Machine Mechanic (Embroidery)



Position Summary: The Machine Mechanic performs daily repairs on all machines and preventative maintenance service, ensuring the machines are in good running condition at all times.



  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Performs mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repairs on production machines.
  • Responsible for making sure all machines are kept in good working condition.
  • Perform necessary maintenance on building.
  • Assist with maintaining warehouse cleanliness.
  • Assists with ordering and maintaining machine parts for all machines in house.
  • Assist in moving and rearranging machines and computers when necessary.
  • Participate in the plant safety committee.
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with all levels of internal and external clients. Creates a culture of “customer first” and translates this culture into daily workflow and priorities.
  • Regularly employs continuous improvement techniques and practices in all activities.
  • Performs duties in compliance with Federal, state and local laws and regulations and adheres to all Penn Emblem policies and safety procedures.
  • Perform other work-related projects as assigned by the Shift Supervisor, Vice President of Manufacturing and Plant Manager.
  • Primary Outcomes:
  • Performs repairs and maintenance on machines that are in need of repair or maintenance in a timely manner.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all machine equipment daily to prevent machine down time.
  • Complete and maintain a maintenance log of all maintenance performed.
  • Place orders for parts and supplies for machines in a timely manner, stocking a small inventory of frequently ordered parts in the event they are needed.

  • Position Requirements:
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience: Good command of the English language, written and verbal.
  • 1-2 years of machine mechanic experience preferred.
  • Company Related 1 year working for a manufacturing company.
  • Knowledge:
  • Technical Training: Mechanic course completion or equivalent training helpful.
  • Certifications Needed: Machine Mechanic Certification from a trade school/college
  • preferred.
  • Functional Knowledge: Solid understanding of machine maintenance. Ability to build positive relationships, proactively develop team relationships.
  • Skills-Knowledge-Abilities
  • Self-driven, self-motivated, results-oriented, positive attitude, and confident.
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills. Detail oriented, logical and methodical approach to problem solving.
  • Creative, critical thinking and good judgment to quickly determine and prioritize key issues.
  • Ability to multi-task in an effective, efficient and organized manner. Flexible and possesses the ability to adapt to a changing environment and a flexible schedule.
  • Proven ability to perform in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work independently within a team environment with an emphasis on collaboration and also be a strong team player.
  • Highly ethical.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, facilitation and negotiation skills, and strong interpersonal/client servicing skills.
  • Basic knowledge Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Excel, Word and Outlook, etc.).
  • Ability to lift product up to 30 pounds and up to 50 pounds with assistance.
